Mercyhurst Jumps Up Three Spots to No.7 in the Polls

April 14, 2008

Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team jumped up three spots to No.7 in the USILA Division II Poll this week. With a 8-1 victory over East Coast Conference opponent C.W. Post on Saturday, the Lakers moved above Adelphi, Wingate and Merrimack in the polls.

No.1 Le Moyne remained at the top of the poll with an undefeated 9-0 record on the season and received nine of the ten first place votes. No. 2 New York Institute of Technology garnered the remaining first place vote and also boasts a 9-0 record. Limestone stayed in the No.3 spot, while Dowling moved up one spot to No.4. C.W. Post dropped one slot with its loss to the Lakers to round out the top five.

Bryant sits in the No.6 ranking, while Adelphi fell one spot to No.8 behind Mercyhurst. Wingate and Merrimack are currently tied for the No.9 to cap off the top ten.

Mercyhurst will continue its home stand when it hosts Wheeling Jesuit Wednesday at 4 p.m.
