Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst men's ice hockey senior forward Ben Cottreau and freshman defenseman Jeff Terminesi were both honored by the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) Thursday evening at the conference's postseason award's banquet. Cottreau, the Lakers' points leader, was named All-AHA Second Team and Terminesi landed a spot on the AHA All-Rookie Team. For Cottreau--a former AHA Rookie of the Year--it marked the second time in his career he was selected to the second team. He led the Lakers and ranked eighth in the conference in points with 34, giving him four-straight seasons of at least 34 points. He also paced the team and ranked fifth in the conference with 22 assists. His 12 goals tied for the team lead, as well. Cottreau enters the AH Final Five tied for seventh in Mercyhurst history in career points with 154 and eighth in career assists with 94. While Cottreau sparked the Laker offensive attack, Terminesi bolstered the Lakers defensively and tied for second on the team in assists with 11. Twice--at Holy Cross on Feb. 1 and against Army on Jan. 12--he recorded two assists in a game. Mercyhurst, the No. 5 seed, opens AHA Final Five Tournament action against fourth-seeded Sacred Heart Friday at 7:05 p.m., from the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. The game can be viewed online via the B2 Networks. |
