Former Defenseman Conrad Martin Gets Chance in American Hockey League

Hamilton, Ontario - Former Mercyhurst College defenseman Conrad Martin has signed a Professional Tryout Contract (P.T.O.) with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Martin will join the Bulldogs in Rockford, Ill today.

Martin played for Mercyhurst from 2002-2006. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound blueliner played in 125 games in his career and collected eight goals, 38 assists, 46 points and 267 penalty minutes.

Martin played in 31 games with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones this season, posting two goals, eight assists, 10 points, a plus-18 rating and 68 penalty minutes. The native of Toronto, Ontario, has 35 points (6-29-35) and 173 penalty minutes in 101-career ECHL games with the San Diego Gulls (2005-06) and Cincinnati (2006-2008).

The defending Calder Cup Champion Bulldogs return to action tonight when they travel to the Rockford MetroCentre to take on the IceHogs at 8:05.
