Providence, R.I. - Mercyhurst College men's golf coach John Marchetti will be inducted into the Providence College Hall of Fame Feb. 16, 2008. Marchetti went 262-69-15 as the head coach of the women's hockey team at Providence from 1980 to 1994. He also played men's hockey at the school.

Marchetti has the highest winning percentage (.779) of any coach in any sport in the history of Providence College and is the all-time winningest coach in the history of NCAA Division I women's hockey. Including his four years as head coach at Yale, he has a record of 292-173-26.

Marchetti will join 13 other members of the class of 2007 at Providence College and the inductees will be honored at halftime of the men's basketball game against the University of Louisville at 2 p.m. A reception will follow the game at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Providence following the game. The 14 inductees of the class of 2007 will join 110 current members of the Hall of Fame.

At Mercyhurst, Marchetti is in his second year as the head men's golf coach. He is also the manager of the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
