Lakers Improve During Day Two Of Merchurst Invite

North East, Pa. - The Mercyhurst men's golf team shot seven strokes better than it did during day one of the Mercyhurst Invitational, but the Lakers were unable to make a move on the leaders Monday. Mercyhurst finished third out of five teams at the event. The Lakers posted a solid 304 round for a 615 total but Gannon and Findlay also played well. Gannon shot a 300 on day two to finish in second place with a 604 and Findlay shot a 297 to win the event with a 586. Seton Hill's 325 on day two placed the squad fourth with a 646 total and Edinboro's 322 put the Scots 14 strokes back at 660. Kyle Waddell's 74 was the best Mercyhurst round of the day and gave him a two day total of 153. Brendan Flood's 76 also gave him a 153 while Craig Bishop's 75 was good for a 154 total. Ryan McNulty shot back-to-back 79s to end with 158 and Tyler Bidwell shot an 80 on the final day for a final round total of 156. Among individuals not competing for team scores, Tim Falkner had an 81 for a 165 two-day total and Matt Mahoney shot a round of 85 for a 177 total. Ben Deets ended with an 89 for an identical 177 score. Mercyhurst will complete the fall season Tuesday at the Gannon Invitational. Complete Results in PDF Format
