Mercyhurst Remain Tied for 21st After Day One of Great Lakes Region Fall Invitational

South Haven, Mich. - The Mercyhurst Lakers men's golf team completed its first day at the Great Lakes Region Fall Invitational tied for 21st in team standings. The Lakers turned in a 315 (+27) on the day. Current leaders Findlay compiled a 288 for par and are closely followed by Ashland with a 290 (+2). Findlay posts three of its golfers in the top ten individual rankings and the last one right outside of the top twenty. Mercyhurst looks to improve on the second day of play on Monday so that it can advance in the team standings.The Lakers only trail Saint Joe's College at No. 19 by two shots (311) and No. 18 Rockhurst by four shots (309). The Lakers are lead by junior Kyle Waddell at 40th (+3) and he is followed by senior duo Kyle Waddell and Steve Barr, along with freshman Patrick Jackson who are all tied at 89th (+8). Play will resume for the Lakers on Monday for the second round of the Great Lakes Region Fall Invitational. |
