Flood Shoots 73 As Lakers Place Third At W&J

Canonsburg, Pa. - Brendan Flood shot a 73 and the Mercyhurst men's golf team shot a 315 on day two to place third out of seven teams at the Peter Rossin Memorial hosted by Washington and Jefferson at Southpointe Golf Club. Washington and Jefferson won the event with a 624 team score. Carnegie Mellon, which led Mercyhurst by nine shots after day one, finished in second place with a 635, just four strokes better than the Lakers in the final standings. Penn State Behrend shot a 663, followed by Westminster with a 669, Slippery Rock with a 711 and La Roche, which finished just three players on day two and could not record a team score. Flood's 73 was the best individual score in day two and moved him from 10th place after day one to a third place finish with a 155 total. Kyle Waddell shot an 80 to tie for 10th with a 159 two-day total, while Craig Bishop shot an 80 for a 161 total. Tyler Bidwell shot identical rounds of 82 for a 164 finish.
