Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst College junior Tyler Bidwell shot a round in the 60's for the second time in his collegiate career as the Lakers beat Gannon by five strokes to win the Mercyhurst Invitational Sunday. Mercyhurst shot a 291 and Gannon ended with a 296.

Bidwell's round of 69 tied him for medalist honors -- the second consecutive event in which he has finished at the top of the leaderboard. He tied Gannon's Pat Kloecker.

Kyle Waddell followed with a 71 and Derek Fisher shot a 75. Ryan McNulty ended with a 76 and Steve Barr's 80 was dropped from the team score. Four other Mercyhurst golfers played as individuals and Matt Mahoney led the way with a 73. Ben Deets had a 79, Darragh Agnew had an 80, and Patrick Jackson finished with 83.

Mercyhurst will compete in the Gannon Invitational Monday to complete the spring season.
