Erie, Pa. - Tyler Bidwell earned first place honors in the individual competition after shooting an even-par 72 Thursday in the Penn State Behrend Invitational at Findlay Lake. The Lakers also finished first in the team competition with a combined score of 300.

Chris Kwolek for Slippery Rock also shot a 72 but Bidwell won out after places were determined by comparing scorecards. Finishing behind Bidwell for the Lakers was teammates Kyle Waddell who followed with a 74 and Steve Barr added a 75. Patrick Jackson shot a 79 and Ben Deets finished with an 84.

In the team competition, Mercyhurst finished six shots ahead of runner-up Gannon. Slippery Rock placed third with a score of 307 and Edinboro followed with 342.

The Lakers will now prepare to host the Mercyhurst Invitational Sunday in Harborcreek, Pa.
