Latrobe, Pa. - Kyle Waddell shot a 3-over 75 to place fifth out of 89 golfers at the St. Vincent Invitational Thursday at Latrobe Country Club. That finish helped the Mercyhurst men's golf team to a seventh place finish out of 18 teams in the event.

Waddell's 75 was three shots behind medalist Jared Schmader of Clarion. Ryan McNulty followed with an 83 and Matt Mahoney added an 86. Steve Barr shot 88 and Patrick Jackson finished with a 92.

St. Vincent won the competition with a 309 team score, followed by Washington and Jefferson at 311. Clarion finished five strokes behind with a 314. PSAC schools Indiana (Pa.) and Slippery Rock also competed at the tournament. Indiana (Pa.) ended fifth with a 320 and Slippery Rock was 15th with a 357.

Mercyhurst will be back in action Saturday and Sunday at the Ohio Northern Invitational.
