Edinburgh, Ind. - Mercyhurst was in 17th place of 19 teams after opening round action Friday at the NCAA District IV Regional Qualifier held at the Timbergate Golf Course. Sal Vella's 74 (t-35th) was best on the team.

First-place Indianapolis had a team score of 286, 17 strokes better than the Lakers' total of 303. The final round will be held Saturday.
