The Mercyhurst men's golf team placed 20th at the Northern Kentucky Spring Regional Invitational at Perry Park Golf Course Saturday and Sunday. The Lakers shot a 312 on day one and a 314 on day two for a 626 team total.

With 22 teams at the event, Mercyhurst finished one stroke ahead of Kentucky Wesleyan and 38 shots better than Northern Michigan. The Lakers were just one stroke shy of Gannon for 19th. Indianapolis won the event with a 581, followed by Grand Valley State at 584 and Bellarmine at 587.

Kyle Waddell led the Lakers with a 75-79 for a 154 two-round total. Brendan Flood and Tyler Bidwell shot identical scores of 79-77 for a 156, while Craig Bishop shot 79-85 for a 164. Ryan McNulty finished with an 84-81 to post a 165.

Mercyhurst will be back in action at the St. Vincent's Invitational Thursday and will follow that up by competing at the Northwood Invitational Friday and Saturday.
