Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst football team continues to grow as head coach Marty Schaetzle has announced a group of 46 recruits for the 2008 season. The Lakers announced 12 players on signing day but the coaching staff has been hard at work to fill out the remaining spots in one of the largest recruiting classes in Schaetzle's tenure.

Mercyhurst went 4-7 in 2008 but returns seven starters on offense and eight on defense for the squad's for year in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.
