Rob Keefe Set To Shine On ESPN2 Monday

Erie, Pa. - Former Mercyhurst College football player Rob Keefe will be on the active roster when the Philadelphia Soul play the Dallas Desperados in the Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football game Monday night on ESPN2. Keefe, a two-time first team All-AF2 player with the Spokane Shock of Arena Football League 2, is in his first season in the Arena Football League. Keefe is a 6-foot, 190 pound defensive back for the Soul and has played in one game this year, recording one assist tackle. He played at Mercyhurst from 1999-03 and tied the single game record with three interceptions against Indianapolis in 2003. He had eight career interceptions and ranks 27th in school history with 166 career tackles. Keefe was also a stalwart punt returner and holds the career record with 643 yards on punt returns, averaging 9.2 yards per return. A year ago, Keefe started all 19 games for the Spokane Shock in AF2 and had 97 tackles, 15 pass break-ups and 11 interceptions, ranking second in the league in that category. The Philadelphia Soul, at 8-0, and the Dallas Desperados, at 7-0, are the only undefeated teams left in Arena Football League this year and will clash at 8 p.m. |
