Eric Long begins his first season on the Mercyhurst coaching staff, working with the running backs and tight ends.

Long graduated magna cum laude from St. John Fisher College in 2004 and then received his masters degree from Albany State in 2007.

Long comes to Mercyhurst after spending two years as a graduate assistant at Fort Valley State University. He worked as the video coordinator throughout his time at Fort Valley State and also worked with the tight ends, quarterbacks and wide receivers during his time there.

Prior to his time at Fort Valley State, Long was as a coaching assistant at St. John Fisher, working as the junior varsity quarterbacks coach and assistant offensive coordinator.

He and his wife, Christine, live in Erie.
