Jeff Gutowski is in his third year at Mercyhurst, working primarily with defensive backs and punters.

Gutowski lettered in football at Northern Illinois as both a wide receiver and punter, before earning his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

In 2002, Gutowski got his college coaching start with the Hoosiers as a volunteer assistant, working with the defensive backs. He was IU's assistant recruiting coordinator/defensive assistant in both 2003 and 2004. Before that, Gutowski coached at Andrean High School, where his team was State Runner-up in 2001.

Gutowski is the son of Laurie and Dennis, and has two siblings named Tim (31) and Jamie (23).He is a native of Crown Point, Indiana.
