Fogel Named All-American by Jewish Sports Review
May 15, 2007 LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Mercyhurst College point guard Avi Fogel was chosen as a first team All-American by the Jewish Sports Review. The senior was chosen to the Division II & III squad. It is the first time Fogel earned the honor. Fogel was named to the All-GLIAC first team for the second consecutive season in 2006-07 after leading the Lakers with 16.2 points per game. He ranked fifth in the conference in scoring, ninth in assists (3.3) and second in minutes played (35.1). He has been the catalyst for a Laker squad that hosted and won an NCAA Division II conference postseason game for the first time in program history. He scored over 1,100 points in just two seasons at Mercyhurst. Fogel led his team to an 18-11 record in 2006-07, including a 13-2 mark at home and a 9-8 record in the GLIAC. |
