Rick Iacobucci was added as an assistant at Mercyhurst at the start of the 2008 season after serving as the head coach at Gannon for six years. During his tenure, the Golden Knights posted a record of 81-161 and improved the program's win total for each of his first five years. In 2002, he led Gannon to a 12-16 conference mark, which was the highest GLIAC finish in school history. Iacobucci led the team to 20 wins the following year, as well, marking the first time the program reached the 20-win plateau in five years. Iacobucci was hired for the Gannon head coaching job after serving as an assistant for two seasons. He was also an assistant at Penn State Behrend in 1995 and was the junior varsity coach at Mercyhurst Prep from 1996-98. While at Mercyhurst Prep, he helped the team to its first-ever Metro League Championship in 1999 and a District 10 title in 1996. Iacobucci, an Erie native, is a graduate of McDowell High School and played baseball for two seasons at Penn State Behrend. Iacobucci and his wife, Suzanne, reside in Erie with their two sons, Chipper and Anthony. |
