Erie, PA - The Mercyhurst Club Hockey team has taken a lot of strides forward in the past few months under the leadership of Head Coach Tom McKinnon and General Manager Bill Shannon. One of the biggest and most exciting changes is the new look they have to begin the 2006-2007 season. Through various fundraising initiatives, the club hockey program was able to purchase much needed new game jerseys.

Coach McKinnon spearheaded various fundraising projects that included an alumni jersey buy-back option. The project turned out to be a huge success, as many club hockey players from years past came forward with support. Alumni players from all over the US and parts of Canada were instrumental in this process. Coach McKinnon would like to thank all of those who participated in the jersey buy-back option, stating, "without our alumni, the club hockey program would not be where it is today. Their support is greatly appreciated. Initiatives such as these help our program to build upon the solid tradition that was built many years ago."

Bill Shannon, the team's General Manager also played a pivotal role in the acquisition of the new game jerseys for the beginning of the 2006-2007 season. Shannon's contribution to the Mercyhurst Club Team has been immense throughout the years of his tenure. Shannon is still active with the club hockey program, assisting with various travel arrangements and related equipment purchases.
