Erie, PA - Head Coach Tom McKinnon has announced the beginning roster for the 2006-2007 season. A strong core of veterans has returned and 8 new players have been added to the roster. Those players now have the opportunity to prove they are worthy of a continuing roster spot with the chance of earning a regular line-up position, week by week. Among the returning lettermen are 9 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 3 goalies.

New players include: defenseman Andrew Thrasher, who played last season for the Cumberland Grads Junior A hockey club of the CJHL; Kenny Hunt, a skilled forward from Hackettstown, NJ; Chris Gilson, who was 3rd in points on North Allegheny's High School hockey team; Justin Gunn-Taylor, who led his Orchard Park High School hockey team in points; Ben O'Dell, who played last year for Elyria Catholic High School; Ryan Stephens, who spent last season with the Lexington Lightning Midget "A" team; Mike Boling, who last played hockey for Cathedral Prep; and Walter Ozanick, a transfer student from Robert Morris University who did not play last season.

The club hockey coaching staff would like to welcome all new and returning players to the team. Congratulations to all those who earned a roster spot and good luck to the Mercyhurst College Club Hockey team.
