Erie, Pa. - 20 year old Junior B goaltender, Carson Loveday has chosen Mercyhurst College as his school of choice. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Carson has played the past two seasons for the Summerland Sting of the Kootenay International Junior B Hockey League. The KIJHL is one of Canada's premier Junior B hockey leagues.

In the past 2 seasons with Summerland, Carson has played in 61 total games with a record of 29-25, a GAA of 3.43 and a save percentage of .902%. In 2005-06, Carson received the most dedicated player award while playing for Summerland and he was selected as a KIJHL League All-Star in that same year and again in 2006-07.

Coach McKinnon is glad to have Carson attend Mercyhurst. "Carson has good positioning with exceptional lateral movement," quoted McKinnon who believes Carson has the potential to become the future number 1 goalie of the club hockey team.
