Erie, Pa - The Mercyhurst Men's Club Hockey Team has released its season ending team awards to goaltender Adam Falkner (Team MVP), forward Kenny Waszak (Team's Leading Scorer), Forward Kenny Hunt (Rookie of the Year), & Defenseman Ben O'Dell (Most Improved Player).

Adam Falkner, a sophomore goalie from Buffalo, NY was instrumental in capturing the ECHL Championship, backstopping the Lakers to 3-2 and 5-4 victories over RMU and the University of Buffalo respectively. Adam stopped 87 of 93 shots for a (.935) playoff save percentage and was recognized as the ECHL all tournament goaltender and playoff MVP. Adam was relied upon as the team's number one goalie throughout the season, logging 1214 in minutes played, a 3.41 GPA, and a save percentage over (.900%).

Kenny Waszak, a product of the Buffalo Saints AAA organization was given the team's leading scorer award, having scored 21 goals and adding 24 assists for a total of 45 points in 27 games played. Kenny led the team in points (45), goals (21), power play goals (12), and was second in both overall assists (24), and short handed goals (2).

Kenny Hunt, a product of the Shawnee Americans Junior A travel team was awarded the team's rookie of the year having led all rookies in assists (10), and points (14). Kenny was also one of the least penalized players on the team and within the league with only 8 penalty minutes in 22 games played.

Ben O'Dell, a freshman defenseman out of Elyria, OH who played last season for his AAA high school hockey team, Elyria Catholic, was awarded the team's most improved player award for his dedicated work ethic, his continual commitment to improvement, his strong defensive play, and his exceptional overall attitude.
