Erie, Pa - On Sunday April 20th, close to 20 alumni returned to the Mercyhurst Ice Center to take on the 07-08 club hockey team in what turned out to be a spirited affair with end to end action, great goaltending and some flare from the days of old.

The two teams traded a pair of goals early into the game, until Ryan O'Connor (Bridgton Academy) took over for the alumni with a 3 goal performance in under 7 minutes, putting his alumni up 6-3 with just over five minutes remaining in the half. The alumni would add one more goal before the end of the period from the Thompson/MacKinlay tandem.

The two teams returned to the ice trading goals early into the second half. The current team would put the pressure on for the next 10 minutes of play, but they were only able to get within two, making the score 8-6 off goals from Whitney Gibbs (Manitoulin Islanders Jr. A/NOJHL) and Kenny Hunt (Shawnee Americans Jr. A).

Tim Falkner (Buffalo Saints) would score his second goal of the game with just over 9 minutes remaining to give his alumni a 3 goal cushion. The alumni sealed the victory and added a few more tallies from Rob MacKinlay (Calgary Royals/Team Ohio) and Brandon Thompson (Steel City Stars Jr. B) eventually winning the game by the score of 11-7.

At the conclusion of the game the three stars were announced as follows:

Honorable Mention - Ryan O'Connor (Bridgton Academy) 3 goals

3rd Star - Kenny Waszak (Buffalo Saints) 1 goal, 3 assists

2nd Star - Brody Micolucci (Binghamton Jr. B Tornadoes) 31 saves

1st Stars - Robert MacKinlay (Calgary Royals/Team Ohio) 1 goal, 3 assists, Brandon Thompson (Steel City Stars Jr. B) 3 goals, 1 assist

The club hockey team would like to thank all of its alumni including those that were unable to make it to this year's event.
