Erie, Pa - The U.S. University Select Team is preparing to depart from the 2007 Winter World University Games in Torino, Italy. The team finished 1-4 in tournament play with its only win coming against team Korea in the qualifying round of the tournament.

Team USA beat Korea 5-2 and then lost to the Czech Republic 3-0 and ended up finishing 8th in the tournament.

Team USA featured a roster of the top non-varsity players in the country. The U.S. Select Team was picked following an identification camp that was held in August 2006, in which Mercyhurst's Adam Falkner, Brent Klimow, and Brad Maxa participated in. From that camp 22 players from ACHA affiliated teams were selected to travel to Torino, Italy and represent their country with preliminary games against Canada, Slovakia, Russia and Korea.
