Male Athlete of the Week
T.J. Mathis, Men's Basketball

Senior guard T.J. Mathis was critical in the Lakers' 2-0 week, averaging 15.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in wins over Urbana and Salem International. Mathis had 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals against Urbana. Just 5-foot-8, he led the team in rebounding for the third time this year with seven boards against Salem International and added 17 points and four steals. It also marked the third time this year that he had at least four steals and ranks second in the GLIAC in that stat.

Female Athlete of the Week
Meghan Agosta, Women's Hockey

Meghan Agosta, the nation's second-leading goal scorer, posted three goals and an assist as the Lakers split a road series at No. 8 Dartmouth over the weekend. In a 7-0 win Saturday, she scored each of Mercyhurst's first two goals and later added an assist. In the 6-4 loss Sunday, Agosta added a goal that put Mercyhurst on top 2-1 early in the second.

Team of the Week
Men's Hockey

The Mercyhurst men's hockey team climbed back to .500 in College Hockey America by sweeping American International 5-4 and 2-1 over the weekend. The Lakers outshot American International 40-23 in the opener behind two goals from Mike Gurtler and a score each from Brett Robinson, Dan Bremner, and Steve Cameron. In game two, Matt Lundin made 31 saves as Mercyhurst shut down the American International attack in a 2-1 come-from-behind victory. Scott Pitt scored 13:29 into the second period to tie the game and Brandon Coccimiglio added the game winner 3:45 into the third as the Lakers extended their winning streak to three games heading into Christmas Break.
