Don Cummings, Wrestling
On Saturday, Cummings won the 149-pound division at the National Catholic Invitational for the second-straight season. As the No. 1 seed in the invitational and the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the East Region, Cummings cruised through the bracket with a 4-0 record and pinned Zack McKendree of Gannon in 3:09.

Female Athlete Of The Week
Rebecca Heintzman, Women's Soccer
Junior goalkeeper Rebecca Heintzman turned in two stellar performances this weekend in the NCAA Playoffs as she recorded a win against No. 22 Quincy and a tie against No. 1 Grand Valley State. On Friday against Quincy, Heintzman earned her ninth shutout this season with three saves in the match. Then against No. 1 Grand Valley State, which had scored eight goals against Mercyhurst in two meetings
this season, Heintzman only allowed one goal in 110 minutes of play (regulation
and two overtimes).

Don Cummings, Braxdon Scaletta and Hudson Harrison each took first place in their respective weight classes and Payne Lint, Andy Lamancusa and Kenny Bluska finished as the runners-up as the Lakers took top team honors at the National Catholic Invitational in convincing style for the second year in a row. Mercyhurst's 134 team points finished well ahead of Gannon with 116. In all, 15 Mercyhurst wrestlers placed in the 10 weight classes.
