Male Athlete of the Week
Richard Stokes, Football

Junior running back Richard Stokes became Mercyhurst's all-time leading rusher with 28 carries for 162 yards Saturday against Northern Michigan. He now has 2,357 for his career to move past Craig Woodard on the all-time leaderboard. Stokes also broke the single-season record for all-purpose yards and scored two touchdowns to move into a tie for the single-season record in rushing scores with 13. With 1,114 yards rushing in 2007, he needs 52 more to break the single season record.

Female Athlete of the Week
Meghan Agosta, Hockey

Sophomore Meghan Agosta had five goals and three assists as Mercyhurst defeated Colgate 5-1 and 6-4 this weekend. Agosta had a goal and two assists in the Lakers' weekend-opener and then scored each of the team's final four goals in the 6-4 victory. She scored three times in the third period as Mercyhurst held off an upset bid by Colgate for her second career four-goal game.

Team of the Week
Women's Hockey

The Mercyhurst women's hockey team scored 11 goals in a weekend sweep of Colgate, defeating the Raiders 5-1 and 6-4. Sophomore Meghan Agosta was the star of the offensive effort, posting five goals and three assists on the weekend, including her second career four-goal game in the 6-4 victory. Team captain Stephanie Jones added four assists in the game two win. Freshman Vicki Bendus added a goal and two assists in the 5-1 win.
