Steve Barr, Golf

Senior Steve Barr shot 4-under par over the final nine holes as Mercyhurst edged Gannon at the Gannon Invitational Tuesday at Lake Shore Country Club. Barr finished with a 3-under par 69 to tie Gannon's Rob Hersch for medalist honors. Barr's 69 was his best score this fall and a career low.

Female Athlete Of The Week
Lauren Kubinski, Volleyball

Junior Lauren Kubinski helped her team to a five-game upset win over Findlay Friday, recording 15 kills, nine digs and five blocks. The victory was Mercyhurst's 15th of the season, the most since the 2003 team won 16. Kubinski followed that up with nine kills and eight digs in the Lakers' loss to No. 10 Ashland Saturday.

Team Of The Week
Men's Water Polo

The Mercyhurst men's water polo team earned its sixth and seventh-straight CWPA Southern Division, Western Region victories this week, running their conference record to 7-1 and capturing a share of the conference crown for a second-straight season. The Lakers outscored Penn State Behrend and Washington & Jefferson by a combined score of 37-18. Against Washington & Jefferson, Mercyhurst produced its most impressive offensive performance of the season, scoring 21 goals to top its previous high of 17, which came against Queens in the season opener.
