Male Athlete Of The Week
Zac Wild, Football
Although the Mercyhurst defense has been overshadowed by an offense averaging 49.7 points
per game over the past three weeks, Zac Wild has been stellar. In the team's 49-28 win over
Gannon, Wild had six tackles for loss and three quarterback sacks. He also had 10 tackles as
the Mercyhurst defense kept Gannon on its heels most of the contest.

Female Athlete Of The Week
Cherie Jackson, Cross Country
Cherie Jackson won the Allegheny Classic in a time of 23:30.31. She fi nished 42 seconds
ahead of any other runner at the event and helped the Lakers to a third place fi nish. In just
three career events, Jackson has already posted a pair of top-three fi nishes and she is the fi rst
Mercyhurst runner to place fi rst since Katie Jarocki won the California (Pa.) Invitational last
year.

Men's Soccer
With a pair of conference victories this week, the Mercyhurst men's soccer team has gotten back into the race
for the GLIAC regular season championship. The Lakers won a pair of road matches this weekend, defeating
Findlay 2-1 Friday and Ashland 4-1 Sunday. Billy Colton and Kurt Young piled up the majority of the points as
the pair combined for four goals and four assists. With the wins, Mercyhurst improved to 5-4-2 overall and 3-2
in conference play, just one game out of fi rst place.
