Male Athlete of the Week
Scott Janssen, Men's Lacrosse
Senior Scott Janssen scored five goals on Senior Day as No. 1 Mercyhurst beat No. 2 NYIT 12-9. He followed that up a day later with three goals in a 17-7 win over Dominican that clinched at least a share of the East Coast Conference title. In the highly touted win over NYIT, Janssen score two of the first three goals to put the Lakers ahead 3-0, including a score just 47 seconds into the contest. He added two goals in the second period and scored a critical goal in the third after NYIT had put together five consecutive goals to close to within one of Mercyhurst. Against Dominican, Janssen scored all three goals in the first period as the Lakers built a 9-1 lead.

Female Athlete of the Week
Breanna Haggerty, Women's Lacrosse
Sophomore Breanna Haggerty had 10 goals and four assists in two games this week. The attacker had a hand in six of Mercyhurst's seven goals against Gannon, scoring three and assisting on three others. She then posted seven goals and an assist in a 23-10 win over Presbyterian in the team's final game of the year. She scored four times in the first 10:03 of the game and then scored three more times in the second half.

Men's Lacrosse
The No. 1 ranked Lakers clinched a share of the East Coast Conference Championship by defeating No. 2 NYIT 12-9 and Dominican 17-7 this week. In a highly touted match-up against the No. 2 team in the country, Mercyhurst jumped out to an 8-2 lead and then held off a late-charging NYIT squad. Scott Janssen scored five goals and Mike Thon added three goals and three assists in the win. The next day, Mercyhurst scored 13 consecutive first-half goals and led 14-1 at the break as the Lakers cruised to a 17-7 win over Dominican. David Osier had two goals and five assists in the win, while Thon had three goals and two assists. Janssen and Bryon Lindner each scored a pair of goals.
