Male Athlete of the Week
Jamie Walczak, Baseball

Jamie Walczak went 11-for-24 (.458 batting average) in eight games this week, scoring six runs, hitting a double and a homer, driving in six more runners and stealing three bases. He finished off the week with a two-out RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning against Tiffin that capped off a five-run comeback. He went 3-for-3 in that contest with a run and two RBI.

Female Athlete of the Week
Carrie Willison, Water Polo

Senior Carrie Willison had 12 goals and seven assists in three games as Mercyhurst finished third at the CWPA Western Division Championships behind only Michigan and Indiana. She helped the team to an opening round win over Washington and Jefferson with five goals, two assists, four steals and five drawn ejections before posting six goals and five assists in the Lakers' 16-6 win over rival Gannon that clinched third place.

Team of the Week
Women's Water Polo

The Mercyhurst women's water polo team placed third at the CWPA Western Division Championships, beating Washington and Jefferson in the opening round and clinching third place with a 16-6 win over rival Gannon. The Lakers advanced to the semifinals by defeating Washington and Jefferson 13-5 as Carrie Willison, Christine Somera and Rachel Griepsma scored all 13 goals. The Lakers were handed a 16-6 loss by No. 18 Indiana to move into the third-place game and Mercyhurst rolled past Gannon for the second time this year to finish third.
