Male Athlete of the Week
Brian Chad, Baseball
Brian Chad tossed 12 shutout innings over the course of two starts. The senior lefty tossed his first complete game shutout on Saturday against Nyack, holding the Warriors to just three hits and a pair of walks, while striking out five. The effort came after going the first five innings against Gannon in a non-conference game on Monday. Chad held the Golden Knights to just two hits and struck out four. For the week, opponents hit just .135 against him.

Female Athlete of the Week
Jen Feret, Softball
Senior Jen Feret hit home runs and drove in eight runs in six games this week, while racking up a 3-0 record with a 0.67 ERA in the circle. Feret hit .381 on the week and blasted a pair of homers in a 7-6 win over Lake Superior State. She also pitched 21 innings, allowing just 10 hits, while striking out 21 batters.

Team of the Week
Softball
The Mercyhurst softball team went 5-1 on the week including a sweep of rival Gannon. The Lakers defeated the Golden Knights 4-1 and 2-1 to begin the week and then split with Saginaw Valley State, winning 5-1 and losing 2-1. Finally, the Lakers finished up the week by defeating Lake Superior State 7-0 and 7-6. After being picked to finish tied for ninth out of 11 teams in the GLIAC Preseason Poll, Mercyhurst is 7-3 in the conference and tied for second. At 17-14 on the year, the Lakers have equaled their overall win total from a season ago and are looking to finish a season above .500 for the first time in 16 years.
