Five Lakers Named GLIAC All-Academic

Bay City, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced the winter All-Academic Teams for the 2006-07 season and Mercyhurst had five athletes from men's and women's basketball named to the team.

In order to be named to the All-Academic Team, an athlete must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, be an academic sophomore, and be a starter or key reserve on the squad. First year transfers are also not eligible for the team.

During the fall, 38 Mercyhurst athletes were named GLIAC All-Academic in seven sports, bringing the total for the year to 43 athletes.

Following is the list of Mercyhurst athletes named All-Academic:

Men's Basketball
Mitch Brennan (Sr./HRIM major/Sydney, Australia/St. Leo's)
Cory Tubo (Jr./Business major/Altoona, Pa./Altoona)

Women's Basketball
Julie Anderson (Sr./Sports Medicine major/Verona, Ontario/Sydenham)
Katlyn Petit (Sr./Sports Medicine major/Doylestown, Ohio/Chippewa)
Stephanie Prischak (So./Biology major/Erie, Pa./Villa Maria)
