Male Athlete of the Week
Ben Cottreau, Hockey
Senior forward Ben Cottreau extended his scoring streak to nine consecutive games with a goal and an assist this weekend against Connecticut. He leads the Lakers in goals, assists and points this year and moved into the top 10 in career points at Mercyhurst during the week. In a 3-3 tie with UConn Friday night, he assisted on each of the team's first two goals. In a hard-fought 3-2 loss Saturday, his goal tied the score at 2-2 with less than 10 minutes to play in regulation.

Female Athlete of the Week
Meghan Agosta, Hockey
Sophomore forward Meghan Agosta continues to dominate women's college hockey as she posted six goals and an assist in wins over Yale and Brown this week. She established a new school record by scoring at least one point in 18 consecutive games and has 31 goals and 19 assists on the season, six points more than she had a year ago when she was the first freshman to finish among the top three vote-getters for the Patty Kazmaier Award, given annually to the top women's college hockey player in the country. Agosta had her third career four-goal game when she posted every score in a 4-2 win over Brown Saturday.

Women's Hockey
The Mercyhurst women's hockey team battled back from early deficits in both of its weekend games to defeat Yale 5-3 and Brown 4-2. The Lakers peppered their foes with 120 shots in the two contests, including 70 against Brown. Meghan Agosta had six goals on the weekend, including all four in the win over Brown. Against Yale, the Lakers fell behind 2-0 after one period, but Agosta's goal early in the second got the offense rolling. Geena Prough's fifth goal of the year tied the contest at 2-2 after two and Valerie Chouinard scored early in the third to put the Lakers on top for good. Jesse Scanzano and Agosta added insurance goals. Against Brown, Mercyhurst fell behind 1-0 but Agosta's first goal tied the contest by the end of the opening period. The Lakers led 2-1 after two and, after Brown tied the contest early in the third, Agosta scored two more for the 4-2 win.
